Aberrant DSP has launched Lair, compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems. Lair is a unique reverberation effect plugin that serves as a transporter through time and space, offering users an immersive audio experience.
Lair is a meticulously crafted plugin that merges three distinct reverberator devices with a vast array of detailed parameters and unpredictable modifiers. This design allows users to explore a wide range of sonic landscapes, from familiar to bizarre and even extraterrestrial realms.
The plugin comes with a comprehensive user manual and a demo version. The demo version, while fully featured, has a brief sound drop-out every 45 seconds and does not have the capability to save custom user presets. Despite this, the settings are preserved, enabling users to continue their work seamlessly if they choose to purchase the full version.
Lair includes global controls for Mix, overall Reverberation, reverberation Sparsity, and Pre-Delay. It also boasts three bespoke reverberation modes or “Devices,” each equipped with two unique modifiers that function as custom special effects. The plugin is further enhanced with a drive unit, modulation system, controls for tone darkness and lightness, stereo width controls, a dynamic ducking section, and a custom preset system that comes with 77 factory presets.
The plugin supports a variety of formats and operating systems. For Windows users, it requires Windows 10 or later and supports VST3 and AAX at 64-bit. For Mac users, it is compatible with macOS 10.13 High Sierra through macOS 14 Sonoma, and supports both Intel and Apple Silicon with AU, VST3, and AAX at 64-bit. Installing Lair onto your computer is a straightforward process, simply run the installer package appropriate for your operating system.
As an introductory offer, Lair is available at a 33% discount until June 30th.
