News: Airwindows releases Airwindows Consolidated. All free plugins in one.

Airwindows has launched Airwindows Consolidated Plugin that integrates all Airwindows plugins into a single, user-friendly interface. This open-source software, which is compatible with CLAP, AU, VST3, LV2, and Standalone, is designed to function seamlessly within your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) like any other effect.

The plugin is available for download on GitHub, with updates released each time a new effect is introduced by Chris, the developer. Installation is straightforward across all operating systems. Windows users can download the ‘…-Setup.exe’ file and run the installer, or alternatively download the windows .zip file and place the plugins in the appropriate location. For macOS, a signed dmg containing a standard installer is provided. Linux users are provided with a zip file of the plugins to move. If preferred, users can build the plugin themselves using the instructions provided on the README.

The User Interface (UI) of the plugin is divided into three core regions: an effect selector at the top, the parameters for the selected effect on the left side, and a documentation section on the right. The effect selector includes a menu, jog buttons to scroll through the effects, and a typeahead-search feature for quick access to a specific plugin or category. The parameters display the current value and parameter name with a knob to edit the value. A text editor is also available for direct value input. The documentation section provides a detailed description of the selected effect.

The footer of the UI contains a settings menu for customizing the plugin, including color scheme, documentation display, menu ordering, and more. It also displays the git hash and build date, reminding users to check back often for new builds as the plugin updates with every new effect.

The Airwindows collection, boasting more than 350 effects, is organized into “Collections” for easier navigation. The default collection, “Recommended”, features Chris’s most popular effects. Users can select other collections through the “Filter by Collections” menu.

The plugin is also accessible via a Screen Reader on macOS and Windows. The Screen Reader allows users to navigate between elements using the Tab key, change values with the arrow keys, and key in a value using Shift-F10. For optimal use with a Screen Reader, users are advised to convert the documentation label to an editable region by pressing F7 or selecting the option in the settings menu.
