Almudio releases 3D Panner, a free binaural HRTF spatial panner for Windows and macOS.

News: Almudio releases 3D Panner, a free binaural HRTF spatial panner for Windows and macOS.

Almudio has launched 3D Panner, a binaural spatial panning plugin for Windows and macOS. The plugin is designed to allow producers and engineers to position sounds within a three-dimensional space using HRTF-based processing.

3D Panner enables users to place mono or stereo sources at a chosen point around the listener, extending beyond traditional left and right stereo positioning. By applying head-related transfer function processing, the plugin is intended to simulate height, depth, and directional cues when monitoring on headphones.

The software is aimed at headphone mixing, immersive and spatial audio production, sound design, and other workflows where precise spatial placement is required. Users can position audio elements in a virtual 3D field, creating a sense of movement or fixed placement in space according to project needs.

According to Almudio, the plugin is compatible with the following formats and systems:

  • VST3 and AU formats
  • Windows and macOS
  • Any compatible DAW

AAX support is listed as coming soon.

3D Panner is available as a free download until August 15th, 2026. Further details and access to the plugin can be found on Almudio’s product page.
