Arturia, a software developer, has unveiled Efx MOTIONS, a new plugin designed to enhance the creative process for both Windows and Mac users. This innovative software effect merges musical movement, mix dynamics, and creative audio tools into a single powerful effect plugin, providing music with the momentum, variety, and sonic excitement it deserves.
Efx MOTIONS is built around five main audio modules, each offering a different type of sound alteration. Users can toggle these modules on and off, rearrange their order, and explore unique parameters for each one, enabling a nearly limitless range of motion-based processing.
The software allows users to chop, resample, and transform incoming audio into punchy rhythmic ideas, ranging from subtle repeating fills to glitchy, Aphex Twin-esque chaos. The Beat Repeater and FX module of Efx MOTIONS provides five additional ways to get creative with track movement, along with two FX slots featuring 14 FX types for a dash of sonic coloration.
The plugin offers stepped and movement-based audio processing with five audio processing modules, each with unique controls. These include Noise, Distortion, Filter, Volume, and Pan. Users can customize how each audio module is triggered using the Envelope Sequencer, Euclidean, Clock, MIDI, or Transient Detector.
The motion editor allows users to customize the movement of each audio module. They can draw their own envelope shapes or choose from envelope shape presets. The dynamics customizer includes an Envelope Follower with internal and external sidechain routing, as well as threshold, input volume, attack, and release controls.
Additional features include a 16-step Beat Repeater, two FX slots with 14 FX types, two assignable multi-destination Macro controls, and a Crossover module to define the frequency band to process. The software also comes with three multi-destination modulation generators, allowing users to choose from a Step sequencer, function, random, and env follower. A preset library with over 300 presets and an A/B comparison feature are also included.
Arturia is offering a 20% discount on Efx MOTIONS as an introductory offer, which is valid until November 9th.
