Rev OCEAN is a new reverb plugin designed to create fluid, evolving spatial effects using FDN processing and multi-stage diffusion. Developed as an ocean-inspired processor, it introduces three distinct modes and a focused control set aimed at shaping immersive and animated reverberation.
At the core of Rev OCEAN is a feedback delay network reverberator combined with multi-stage diffusion. This structure is designed to generate stable reflections that gradually blur and expand into dense, moving tails. The processing approach enables reflections to drift and dissolve into extended layers of ambience while maintaining clarity and spatial definition.
The plugin is intended for a wide range of applications, including downtempo production, ambient composition, guitar processing, vocal space design, and electronic sound design. It focuses on creating reverbs with continuous motion, allowing sound sources to evolve within an animated spatial field.
Rev OCEAN offers three selectable reverb modes, each with distinct diffusion and modulation characteristics:
- Abyss – Designed for deeper, more expansive reverberation with pronounced movement.
- Tide – Focused on flowing modulation and evolving diffusion behaviour.
- Foam – Tailored for softer, swelling ambience and lighter spatial textures.
Each mode reshapes how the reverb tail develops over time, incorporating varying types of motion, spectral modulation, and diffusion responses. These modes are designed to allow users to move between subtle spatial enhancement and more pronounced, animated environments.
The processing engine supports long, smooth reverb tails described as hyper-fluid in character. The FDN architecture works alongside multi-stage diffusion to maintain consistent reflection patterns while introducing continuous modulation. This combination is intended to create reverberation that remains stable yet dynamically evolving.
Rev OCEAN also includes a streamlined set of mix controls for shaping the spatial response:
- Size and decay for overall space and tail length
- Brightness and filtering for tonal shaping
- Ducking and transient controls for dynamic integration
- Stereo width adjustment for spatial placement
These parameters are designed to provide detailed control over how the reverb interacts with source material, whether applied subtly to enhance presence or used more extensively to transform sounds into atmospheric textures.
The plugin’s interface follows an ocean-inspired visual theme that reflects its conceptual focus on fluid movement and depth. The layout is structured to allow direct access to the main shaping parameters and mode selection.
Rev OCEAN is positioned as a creative reverb tool for transforming drums, vocals, guitars, and synthesizers into evolving spatial environments. Its design centres on motion, modulation, and extended diffusion behaviour, enabling a range of effects from restrained ambience to expansive, immersive soundscapes.
Rev OCEAN is priced at $49. Until July 14th, special launch pricing is active and Rev OCEAN is included at no extra cost with FX Collection 6 PRO.
