Audio Brewers has launched the AB Advanced Decoder, a plugin for Windows and macOS designed to decode Ambisonics signals with precision. The tool offers flexible output configurations and real-time processing for various speaker layouts.
The AB Advanced Decoder is an advanced higher-order Ambisonics decoder featuring a beamformer algorithm and an internal upscaler that processes all signals in seventh-order Ambisonics (7OA). It adapts automatically to signals from first to seventh order and supports both speaker-based and beam-based routing. An Auto Mode provides acoustic focus, while a customizable Gate control allows for further isolation of audio sources.
- Speaker Mode for up to 64 custom channels
- Spot Mode with up to 64 adjustable beams
- Per-channel high- and low-pass filters plus support for up to 62 LFE channels
- Zero-latency Monitor mode with a built-in visualiser and three-dimensional Gate
The plugin runs in AAX, AU and VST3 formats on macOS (Silicon and Intel) and Windows 10 or later. Solo, Mute and Gain controls are available on every channel, and a smart troubleshooting algorithm assists in diagnosing setup issues.
