Audiolatry has launched a new ROMpler plugin known as Easy Strings, available for free or at a price determined by the user (PWYW). The plugin, compatible with Mac and Windows, is designed to be a simple and effective tool for creating melodies in various music genres.
Easy Strings is a VST/VST3 & AU instrument plugin for Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) on Windows and macOS. The plugin features samples recorded from violin, viola, and cello ensembles. However, it does not offer in-depth sampling, providing only one velocity layer. The aim of Easy Strings is to provide a small, user-friendly instrument for creating straightforward and effective melodies, particularly in Electronic Dance Music (EDM) genres. For more complex scores, users are advised to explore other instruments, with numerous free and paid alternatives available.
The plugin is divided into three pages, each dedicated to a different instrument: Violin, Viola, and Cello. Each page offers four playing techniques for the respective instrument: Sustain Vibrato, Tremolo, Pizzicato, and Spiccato. This results in a total of 12 presets. The Sustain Vibrato and Tremolo techniques are looped for continuous play.
The graphical user interface (GUI) of Easy Strings includes standard controls and effects such as an ADSR envelope, global gain & panning, and modules for reverb, delay, chorus, and lo-fi. These features make Easy Strings a useful production tool for simple compositions in musical genres including EDM, Hip Hop, Pop, RnB, House, and more.
