Baby Audio has launched Beat Slammer, a free compressor plugin available for both Windows and Mac. Unlike other compressors that are designed to be subtle, Beat Slammer is created to deliver an aggressive compression sound that adds intensity to your beats and mix busses.
The plugin is developed based on the IHNY-2 by Baby Audio and functions as a parallel compressor. This feature allows users to compress harder than they normally would and blend in the compressed signal to their preference, while still maintaining the dynamics of the dry signal.
Features of Beat Slammer:
- It delivers an aggressive compression sound that makes your beats ‘bounce’. This feature adds punch and intensity to your drums and mix busses.
- It comes with an XY pad that allows users to set the compression amount and dry/wet mix in one motion. Users can then adjust the make-up gain and output according to their needs.
- It is based on the popular compression algorithm from the IHNY-2 plugin by Baby Audio. However, it does not include the surgical tweak options of IHNY-2.
Beat Slammer is a unique tool for those seeking to add a distinct sound to their music. Its aggressive compression sound and easy-to-use features make it an ideal choice for smashing and squashing drums, beats, or entire mix busses.
