BaconPaul has launched Six Sines, a free and open-source software synthesizer plugin. This innovative product, compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux, is based on audio rate modulation.
Six Sines is a compact synthesizer that delves into the realm of audio rate inter-modulation of signals. It is characterized more as a PM/AM (Phase Modulation/Amplitude Modulation) synth rather than an FM (Frequency Modulation) synth. This distinction sets it apart in the market, offering a unique approach to sound synthesis.
The software is open-source, meaning it is freely available for modification and distribution. It is licensed under the MIT license, a permissive free software license that puts only very limited restrictions on reuse, thereby enabling a wide range of applications and developments.
Six Sines is available for download from the release page on its GitHub repository. GitHub, a popular platform for software development, provides a reliable and accessible source for users to obtain the software. The open-source nature of the software, combined with its availability on GitHub, promotes a collaborative environment where users can contribute to its development and improvement.
It’s important to note that the software was developed by BaconPaul independently and is not part of the Surge-Synthesizer project. This distinction underscores BaconPaul’s individual contributions to the field of audio synthesis software.
As for the pricing, Six Sines is a free software. There is no expiry date for this offer, making it a valuable resource for those interested in audio synthesis. The open-source nature of the software also means that it can be freely modified and distributed, providing even more value to its users.
