Bela D Media has launched Phantom Choir, a Gregorian-style male choir library featuring separate bass and tenor ensembles. The collection focuses on historically inspired Latin performances drawn from “Sacris Solemniis of the Blessed Sacrament,” presented in a structured and performance-ready format.
Phantom Choir is organised into two sections comprising four basses and six tenors. The performances are sung entirely in Latin and are designed to reflect traditional choral repertoire associated with liturgical use. “Sacris Solemniis” is currently used as a hymn for the Office of Readings for Corpus Christi.
The library includes a selection of recorded hymns that can be performed as written or combined into custom arrangements:
- Tetrina Deitas
- Unique Poscimus
- Sic Nos Tu Visita
- Sicut Te Colimus
In addition to the hymns, Phantom Choir provides sustained vowel articulations:
A dedicated legato mode is implemented using Bela D Media’s Time Machine technology. This system is time-based and linked to the natural duration of each recorded vocal phrase. When notes are played legato without releasing the keys, the phrase continues until it reaches its recorded endpoint. At that stage, all keys must be released before triggering a new phrase. During the active phrase, composers can perform melodic lines that follow the selected notes in real time.
Phantom Choir also incorporates Bela D Media’s V Script system, which is designed to streamline the process of building vocal sequences. The system enables composers to create grouped vocal elements and store them via key switches for later recall.
