BFD Audio has launched BFD Player, a complimentary drum plugin for Mac and Windows, equipped with a 5GB core library. The software is designed to assist professional music producers and songwriters in creating high-quality drum kits, grooves, and mixes, following the success of the company’s flagship product, BFD3.
BFD Player is user-friendly and can be opened as a virtual instrument in any preferred Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) or in standalone mode. It provides real drum sounds, professional grooves, and an easy-to-use mixer. The software comes pre-loaded with pro mixed kits and grooves. Users can also expand the BFD Player with BFD Audio’s growing collection of sound libraries for a wider range of sounds.
Along with excellent sound quality, BFD Player also offers 340 grooves created by top drummers. These grooves are fully searchable based on tags such as genre, tempo, and leading hand, making it easier for users to find the perfect fit for their songs. The inbuilt mixer can be used to achieve a professional drum sound. The software offers presets for beginners, and more experienced users can take control of the mix and even route the drum outputs separately to process the sounds with their favourite plugins.
The kit piece browser is a standout feature of BFD Player, allowing users to swap drum components with alternatives from various expansion packs. This feature opens up a world of sonic exploration, enabling users to craft unique drum tracks by blending elements across expansions. The kit piece browser expands the capabilities of the plugin beyond the free Core library, adding a unique edge to tracks.
The free version of BFD Player includes a 5GB library, which is not limited in terms of velocity layers or channels available. It also features a 3D kit view with switchable drums, a simplified mixing experience with 4 macros to quickly change the sound of the loaded preset, and a groove browser with filtering mechanics. The software comes with a library of 340 drum patterns that users can drag and drop right into their sessions. It also includes a collection of production-ready presets and an ‘Original Mix’ preset that gives users access to all channels.
