Cableguys has announced the release of ShaperBox 3.5, a free update that focuses on analog-style features and enhancements. In addition, they have also launched their Winter Sale on ShaperBox.
The DriveShaper distortion module in ShaperBox 3.5 now includes the Smooth Clip distortion algorithm from Cableguys’ standalone FilterShaper XL plugin. This new feature is designed to enhance the quality of your sounds. The FilterShaper Core has also been updated with features and algorithms that were first introduced in FilterShaper XL. The Warm filters now offer control over Resonance Distortion within the filter circuit, which is ideal for controlling squealing resonances and achieving warmer textures. A new Hard Dist option has also been added, which allows for hard clipping in the resonance circuit, resulting in a more aggressive sound.
Another new feature is the Safe Res option which can be deactivated to unlock filter self-oscillation. This allows the filter to function like an oscillator, which can be useful for creating warped basses, electro kicks, whistling leads, and even intense modular-style sounds. The 3.5 update also includes an animated filter response curve, making it easier to visualize the modulation in real time.
The changes in ShaperBox 3.5 include:
- New: Smooth Clip distortion style in DriveShaper.
- New: Dist slider to adjust internal resonance distortion in FilterShaper Core’s Warm filters.
- New: Hard Dist internal resonance clipping option for FilterShaper Core’s Warm filters.
- New: Safe Res option for FilterShaper Core’s Warm filters. When disabled, these filters can self-oscillate.
- New: Animated filter response visualisation in FilterShaper Core.
- Improved: Smoother slider response when adjusting ReverbShaper’s Decay and Size.
