CARP Audio has launched Reeferb IR, an automatic convolution-reverb plugin compatible with both Mac and Windows. This innovative plugin is the ‘IR Convolution’ version of its predecessor, Reeferb, and offers users the ability to experiment with custom reverbs using the built-in IR Convolution Reverb Module.
Reeferb IR allows users to load Impulse Responses from their IR collection or experiment with random FX samples. The plugin comes with a variety of factory presets, including presets using regular reverb IR’s and some using FX Samples as Impulse Responses. This feature-rich plugin offers a wide range of capabilities for users to explore and experiment with.
One of the unique features of Reeferb IR is that the exported presets contain the loaded IR. This means users can share their presets without needing to include the .wav’s of the Impulse Responses used. These are encoded inside the preset/bank file, making it easier for users to share their custom presets.
The plugin boasts a host of features including Attack/Release, Detection input shaping using the ‘Bandpass Filter’, and the ability to preview the detection input. The IR Convolution Module is another key feature, along with the fact that Impulse Response .wav’s are encoded in the preset files. Other features include Pre-Delay, Width, Pre-Reverb Lowcut/Highcut filter, Stereo/Mono Peak handling modes, and Push Delay (L or R independent peak detection release lengthening).
Reeferb IR is versatile and can be used on a variety of sources including live instruments, vocals, drums, and synths. This allows users to experiment and create unique sounds across a range of musical elements.
The regular price of the plugin is €70,95 EUR, but it is currently on sale for €44,95 EUR. The plugin is available for both Windows (VST3) and MacOS (AU). Until unlocked, the plugins will start in Demo Mode – fully functional but with occasional noise bursts or disabled functions. To unlock the full version, users need to purchase their keys and enter them in the plugin. The introductory offer provides a 37% discount. The expiry date of this offer is currently unknown.
