Creature From The Black has launched Attrattore, an experimental subtractive software synthesizer built around deterministic chaos. The VST3 instrument for Windows uses mathematical chaotic attractors as its oscillator sources, rather than conventional sine, sawtooth, or square waveforms.
Attrattore is based on 36 attractor models, including the Lorenz, Rössler, and Chua systems. These systems are defined by differential equations that are numerically integrated in real time, with the resulting orbit converted directly into audio. According to the developer, this process takes place thousands of times per millisecond.
The synthesizer uses a two-oscillator subtractive architecture. While its oscillator sources are based on chaotic systems, the instrument includes familiar synthesis components such as filters, frequency modulation, modulation routing, and effects. The developer states that the calibration system and FM engine are intended to support both stable pitched sounds and more continuously changing material.

The instrument is designed for use with basses, leads, pads, keys, drones, and evolving textures. Its attractor-based oscillator behaviour produces sound from the ongoing mathematical movement of each system, rather than from sampled waveforms or lookup tables.
Attrattore also includes Drone Mode, which operates without MIDI note input. In this mode, the attractors continue evolving according to their respective dynamics, providing a continuously changing sound source for ambient material, sound design, and other sustained applications.
The release is available as a VST3 plugin for Windows.
