Crescent Sound Lab debuts new creative destruction multi-effect plugin MOSH.

News: Crescent Sound Lab debuts new creative destruction multi-effect plugin MOSH.

Crescent Sound Lab has launched MOSH, a multi-effect plugin designed for creating distorted, glitch-focused digital processing. Part of the company’s Inspire Series, MOSH combines several effect processes in six mode-based engines intended for sound design and creative audio manipulation.

MOSH draws on glitch art, circuit bending, and damaged digital electronics as reference points for its processing approach. Its modes combine variations of buffer glitching, waveshaping, modal resonance, feedback delays, bit-crushing, noise injection, modulation, wave folding, parallel saturation, and distortion.

The plugin includes input and output stages, each with saturation and hard-clipping controls. A shared low-pass filter section can be modulated with an envelope and a syncable LFO.

The six processing modes are:

  • Datamosh: Frozen glitch
  • Pixelsort: Waveshaping cascade
  • Fracture: Digital shrapnel
  • Hallucinate: Mutating echoes
  • Corrupt: Binary erosion
  • Databend: Circuit mangling

Each mode has its own processing character and reactive visualiser. The mode engines are designed to provide different combinations of the plugin’s underlying effects, while the shared input, output, and filter sections provide controls that apply across the processing workflow.

MOSH also includes 300 factory presets. These are organised using a tag system intended to help users browse the included sounds and processing setups.

MOSH is available for $51, with a limited-time introductory price of $38.25.
