The Crow Hill Company has launched Chorus Synth, a new addition to their free Vaults series of virtual instruments. This innovative software, compatible with both Windows and Mac, is based on the much-admired Juno 6 synthesiser, renowned for its robust sound, user-friendly interface, and signature chorusing.
Chorus Synth boasts an array of features, such as Tone, Chorus, Sub, Shape, ECHO, and SPLOSH. The Tone feature introduces an extra layer of slow, undulating unmeasured Tremolos, processed through a real-time generated shimmer reverb. The Chorus feature is a meticulously fine-tuned low-pass filter that enables users to roll off and shape their sound. The Sub feature channels the entire signal path through a digitally modelled Tube Amp for an added touch of grit.
The Shape feature allows users to control the intensity of a stereo chorus-based modulation, reminiscent of the 1984 sound. The ECHO feature is a modelled multi-tap tape delay with just the right amount of warmth and wobble to appease even the most analog of purists. Lastly, the SPLOSH feature is a newly enhanced Chamber-sized algorithmic reverb, ideal for positioning a sound within a production.
Chorus Synth is compatible with AU, VST3, VST, AAX plug-in formats. It can be used with macOS Catalina (10.15) through to Sonoma (14.x) (Apple Silicon and Intel compatible) and Windows 10 through to Windows 11. The recommended minimum requirements for the software include 8 GB or more of RAM, a high-speed internet connection, up to 1.51 GB of free disk space, and an SSD if installing to an external drive. The company has also announced that NKS support for the product will be available soon.
