Digital Brain Instruments has released vPlayer 4.

News: Digital Brain Instruments has released vPlayer 4.

Digital Brain Instruments has recently launched vPlayer 4, a standalone live performance plugin host designed for both Mac and Windows. This new version also comes with a free “lite” version that offers fewer features.

vPlayer 4 is a standalone VST/AU host specifically developed for playing a live audio plugin rig on stage, during rehearsals, for jamming with virtual synths, or for quickly testing new plugins. This is all achievable without the need for any Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), which can often be more complex to set up. vPlayer 4 functions as a wrapper, converting any VST/AU into a standalone application.

While a traditional DAW can be utilized for live performances, many musicians prefer the stability and user-friendliness that comes with dedicated VST hosts. vPlayer 4 caters to this preference, allowing musicians to play up to 8 VST/AU instruments simultaneously using up to 4 different midi keyboards. This feature enables musicians to quickly join a jamming session with their peers.

What’s New in vPlayer 4:

  • Improved Audio Engine.
  • Capability to play up to 8 VST/AU instruments.
  • Serial & Parallel processing modes. The Parallel mode allows playing 1 instrument plugin through 1 effect plugin on each slot (4 slots available). Additionally, the effect plugin can be converted into another instrument plugin, allowing up to 8 instruments to be played at the same time. The Serial mode allows playing 1 instrument through 7 effect plugins.
  • Audio input available. This feature allows the use of a microphone or audio from third-party software using virtual audio loopback drivers.
  • Built-In Audio Player. This allows playing files from your computer.
  • Built-in MIDI Player. This allows playing midi files from your computer.
  • Built-In Metronome.
  • Multitrack Recording. This feature allows recording each plugin slot to individual audio files.
  • Midi Recording. This feature allows recording midi files while playing virtual instruments.
  • Master Rack. This includes 2 VST/AU plugins.
  • Support for the latest Mac & Windows OS.

With these new features and improvements, vPlayer 4 offers a comprehensive solution for musicians seeking a reliable and efficient standalone VST/AU host for live performances and rehearsals.
