Discrete Laboratories has launched Atlas, a free polyphonic virtual synthesizer plugin specifically designed for Mac users. This innovative product is a blend of vintage allure and modern functionality, inspired by the iconic synthesizers of the 1970s.
Atlas is a polyphonic virtual analog synthesizer plugin that offers a comprehensive suite of features for sound creation. These include three oscillators, a noise generator, a resonant lowpass filter, two ADSR envelope generators, a dedicated LFO, glide rate, two modulation busses, a mixer, and eight-voice polyphony. In addition, the plugin supports MPE and boasts an intuitive user interface, making it user-friendly and accessible to a wide range of users.
This product is versatile in its application, capable of shaping everything from smooth basslines to screaming leads. It allows for on-board modulation possibilities, designed to imbue every note with authenticity. Atlas offers a palette rich in harmonic complexity and subtle imperfections, making it suitable for creating lush pads, gritty basslines, or soaring leads.
The system requirements for Atlas are MacOS 14.0 or higher (Intel / Apple Silicon) and AudioUnit (AU) compatible DAW host software. This ensures that the plugin is compatible with a wide range of systems, allowing for broad user accessibility.
The most recent update for Atlas, version 1.0.1, was released on 28th July 2024. This update addressed and fixed incorrect Fine Tune scaling and an issue where some users were unable to load the GUI in the host DAW. This demonstrates Discrete Laboratories’ commitment to continually improving and refining their products based on user feedback and experience.
Atlas is a free product from Discrete Laboratories. Users can download and use the plugin at no cost, making it an accessible tool for sound creation for all users, regardless of budget.
