Elektrokid has launched SETWIDE, a utility designed for Ableton Live 12 that inserts plug-ins or Live devices across multiple selected tracks in a single operation. Available for macOS and Windows, SETWIDE is intended to streamline the process of adding the same device or plug-in to several tracks within an existing Live session.
SETWIDE allows users to select one or more tracks, choose a plug-in or device from Ableton Live’s browser, and add it to each selected track at once. The utility supports inserting devices at either the beginning or end of each device chain.
The software works with items displayed in Live’s browser, including native Live devices, racks, presets, Max for Live devices, VST2 and VST3 plug-ins, and Audio Units on macOS. This allows the same process to be used for tasks such as placing an EQ, compressor, analyser, or other processing device across a group of tracks.
Users can apply insertions to selected tracks, restrict the operation to group tracks, or include return tracks. SETWIDE does not target the Master track. Each insertion can also be removed through Ableton Live’s Undo function.
- Supported hosts: Ableton Live 12
- Formats: VST3 for macOS and Windows, plus Audio Unit for macOS
- Operating systems: macOS 11 or later, and Windows 10 or later
SETWIDE is an independent product and is not affiliated with Ableton AG. The developer notes that smart:EQ 4 by sonible appears in its demonstration material as an example plug-in.
SETWIDE is available at a launch price of €12.99, with a regular price of €24.99. A personal licence covers the user’s own Macs and PCs, and includes updates.
