Emetic DSP has launched Smile Bus 3000, an auto-sensing bus compressor for macOS and Windows. The plugin provides three compression characters and a set of controls intended to help users shape dynamics, groove, presence, and low-frequency response in bus-processing sessions.
Smile Bus 3000 is designed for use on audio buses, where compression may be applied to groups of tracks or full mixes. According to Emetic DSP, its auto-sensing approach is intended to make it quicker to identify an appropriate compression response while retaining user control over the final settings.
The plugin includes three distinct compression characters, each providing a different response. Its workflow centres on core compression controls, alongside additional functions for adjusting rhythmic movement, upper-frequency presence, and low-end behaviour.
Emetic DSP describes Smile Bus 3000 as a focused bus-compression tool rather than a broader channel-strip environment. The design scope is aimed at users seeking to apply compression character and cohesion while working with a concise control set.
- Auto-sensing bus compression
- Three compression characters
- Controls for groove, presence, and low-frequency behaviour
- AUv2 and VST3 support
- macOS and Windows compatibility
A fully functional 14-day demo version of Smile Bus 3000 is also available.
Smile Bus 3000 is available as a perpetual licence for £79. A bundle including Smile Bus 3000 and Emetic DSP Parametic is available for £119.
