Fanan Team has launched RandRobin. This free random round robin module, designed for Windows, is an innovative tool that emulates humanization for various drum elements.
RandRobin is a unique round robin effect emulation that enhances the sound of drum elements such as snares, cymbals, hi-hats, and percussion. The plugin operates by dividing the signal into three distinct frequency bands: low, middle, and high. It then applies random pitch changes to each band separately, creating a dynamic and versatile sound.
The extent of the difference between the original pitch and the manipulated pitch is controlled by the frequency band knobs. This feature, known as “pitchbending”, allows users to customize the sound to their liking. The “same pitch to all” button provides further control, indicating whether the random pitch values remain consistent across all the frequency bands or if individual pitches are assigned to each band separately.
The type of pitchbending jumps is determined by the “pitchbending method” menu. The “only up” option ensures the pitch jumps will always be higher than the original, while “only down” guarantees the pitch jumps will always be lower. The “up & down” option allows for pitch jumps that are both higher and lower than the original, adding an additional layer of complexity to the sound.
The “dry – wet ratio” is a balance between the original signal occurrence and the manipulated signal occurrence. When the value of this knob is low, the original signal occurrence is more likely. As the value increases, the likelihood of the manipulated signal occurrence also increases. This feature allows users to fine-tune the balance between the original and manipulated sounds, providing a high level of customization.
