FeelYourSound has launched Modern Strings, an expansion pack for its SongEngine MIDI generator plug-in. The expansion adds 101 presets designed to create string-based MIDI parts from user-supplied chord progressions.
SongEngine is available in VST and AU formats and is designed to transform chord progressions into generated MIDI patterns, including arpeggios, basslines, and piano phrases. The plug-in includes more than 60 presets, with additional preset collections available as optional expansions.
Modern Strings focuses on generated arrangements using string-oriented patterns and textures. According to FeelYourSound, the presets can be used to create flowing string arrangements, rhythmic pizzicato parts, and cinematic textures. The collection is intended for a range of musical contexts, with particular reference to trailer and score-oriented work.
The expansion requires SongEngine version 1.6 or later. As with the main plug-in’s other generators, users provide a chord progression and SongEngine generates MIDI material based on the selected preset, allowing the resulting notes to be routed to compatible virtual instruments.
Modern Strings is priced at €25 / US$29. FeelYourSound is offering a 15% introductory discount with the code “ExpIntro” at checkout. Existing FeelYourSound customers may also qualify for an additional discount through the company’s customer discount programme. These offers are valid until 20 September 2026.
