FluffyAudio has launched Cartoon Maestro, a cartoon scoring library specifically designed for Kontakt (full version). This library is tailored to meet the requirements of those involved in scoring for cartoon or comedy series, providing a range of unique solo instruments and articulations specifically designed for animation projects and films.
The development of this library was driven by the desire to encapsulate the essence and diversity of scores from what is often referred to as the golden age of animation. The developers conducted an in-depth study and transcription of a wide range of scores, from slapstick to the more sophisticated compositions found in contemporary works. This was done to understand and replicate the unique sounds and effects that can be achieved with traditional orchestral instruments.
Extensive research and numerous recording sessions were undertaken to sample a wide range of articulations and capture the nuances necessary for portraying various cartoon scenes. The library includes content provided by performers interpreting a variety of animation scenarios. This content is available as both articulations and separate WAV files, allowing for easy integration into any DAW or video software.
The library features 20 orchestral solo instruments including Flute, Piccolo, Clarinet, Bassoon, Violin, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, Doublebass, Harp, Lapsteel Guitar, Vibraphone, Marimba, Xylophone, Glockenspiel, Timpani, Bass Drum, Snare Drum, Cymbals, and Percussion. Each instrument comes with a variety of articulations, including versatile runs, deeply sampled staccatos, mutes, and other unconventional sounds.
In addition, the library includes 28 ensemble patches designed to recreate iconic moments in cartoon genres, such as chases or scenes featuring impacts and flights. Over 28 distinctive musical moments have been identified, each represented through different combinations of instruments and melodies, providing multiple ways to score various scenarios. The system is entirely MIDI-based, allowing for realistic and multifaceted interactions between phrases.
Cartoon Maestro is more than just a library; it is a resourceful companion in the creative process. It is designed to assist in translating the whimsical world of cartoons into musical language. It is hoped that it will serve as a valuable tool in efforts to bring joy and laughter through musical creations.
As an introductory offer, Cartoon Maestro is available at a 12% discount until November 1st.
