Full Bucket Music has launched DrumTraqs, a free plugin for Windows and Mac that emulates the Sequential Circuits Drumtraks drum machine. The software instrument, designed for both Microsoft Windows and Apple macOS, replicates the iconic Sequential Circuits Drumtraks drum computer from 1983, offering high performance and low CPU consumption due to its native C++ code.
DrumTraqs boasts several key features that mirror the original hardware. These include the simulation of the original Z80 system, original factory and some additional ROM samples, old-school pattern and song building, built-in stereo mixing options, and SysEx and MIDI import/export. The user interface is resizable, with the exception of the “N” version, and all parameters and buttons can be controlled by MIDI CC. The plugin is compatible with both Windows and macOS.
This software is not designed to compete with the latest high-tech drum plugins. Instead, DrumTraqs aims to provide a faithful recreation of the original Drumtraks drum computer, complete with its limitations and only a few extensions. This approach ensures that users can experience the authentic sound and functionality of the classic 1983 hardware.
DrumTraqs is available for download in various versions for Windows and macOS, including CLAP, VST2/VST3, and AAX versions. Some versions are specifically designed for older operating systems and feature a non-resizable user interface.
In addition to the software, the DrumTraqs Manual Version 1.0 is also available for download in PDF format. This manual provides comprehensive guidance on how to use the plugin, making it accessible for both new and experienced users.
