Gooey has launched Deeper, a new sub-enhancer plugin designed to reinforce low-frequency content in audio material. The plugin is intended for use in music production and audio processing contexts where controlled enhancement of sub and bass frequencies is required.
Deeper is designed to bring forward sub frequencies and increase bass presence through a proprietary processing approach. According to Gooey, the plugin operates within a frequency range of approximately 30 Hz to 250 Hz, targeting the deep auditory spectrum commonly associated with sub-bass and low-end content.
The core processing combines shelving equalisation with non-linear wave shaping. When the main Deeper control is engaged, a shelving filter is applied to lift sub frequencies, while an internal bass band is used to add density to the low end. The plugin tracks the incoming signal using an RMS-based calculation, which is then used to drive a sub-oscillator that reinforces lower frequencies in response to the source material.
A blend control is included to allow the processed signal to be mixed with the original input. This is intended to preserve the character of the source audio while introducing additional sub content generated by the plugin.
Gooey states that Deeper has been designed around a simplified interface while still offering specific processing features for low-frequency enhancement. These include oversampling to manage low-end clarity, subtle non-linear behaviour to add thickness to bass content, and sub-oscillation derived from RMS values rather than fixed triggering.
The plugin is available for both Windows and macOS systems. Supported formats include AU, VST3, and AAX, with universal compatibility for Apple Silicon. System requirements specify Windows 8 or later, and macOS 10.13 or later.
Pre-release testing was carried out in Ableton Live on both Windows and macOS, as well as in Logic Pro and Pro Tools. Gooey also provides a 14-day demo version and a 14-day money-back guarantee. Customer support is available through the developer’s support page.
