The Strange String Summer library is an innovative creation by Karoryfer Samples. It is meticulously crafted for compatibility with the Plogue Sforzando sampler, a versatile tool for music producers and sound designers. The library’s uniqueness lies in its dual quartet feature and the variety of textures it offers.
The first quartet in the library comprises a violin, viola, cello, and bass. It offers five distinct textures: smooth, rough, fragile, broken, and atonal. These textures provide a broad spectrum of sounds, allowing users to experiment with a wide range of musical styles and genres.
The second quartet is a blend of unconventional instruments, including a hurdy-gurdy, a tagelharpa with extra sympathetic resonance strings, a Hungarian zither, and bass. This quartet offers two textures: smooth and rough. The combination of these unique instruments and textures provides a fresh and intriguing sound palette for users to explore.
To utilize the Strange String Summer library, users must have the free Plogue Sforzando sampler, 4 GB RAM, and an SSD. The library is compatible with 64-bit Windows and Mac systems, ensuring a wide range of users can benefit from its features. It includes over 1.6 GB of sample material, with samples varying in length from over 40 seconds to over 6 minutes. This vast collection of sample material provides users with an extensive range of sounds to incorporate into their projects.
