Korneff Audio has launched SITRAL Klangfilter W295 EQ plugin for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The plugin is a software interpretation of the SITRAL W295 equalizer, a design originally developed for German broadcast use in the 1960s.
The SITRAL Klangfilter W295 EQ plugin is intended to recreate the operational behaviour and tonal characteristics of the original hardware through component-level modelling. According to the developer, the goal is to provide a responsive equalizer that reflects the design approach of the historic SITRAL series while functioning within modern digital audio workstations.
The plugin includes three separate modules, each based on a different configuration from the W295 family. These modules are presented as individual tools within a single plugin package:
- W295 – The Original, based on the standard broadcast equalizer design
- W295A – A tilt equalizer variant for broad tonal balance adjustments
- W295B – A version designed for more pronounced shaping across the frequency range
Korneff Audio describes these modules as suitable for a range of production tasks, including tone shaping on individual sources such as vocals, guitars, and drums, as well as broader equalization duties during mixing and mastering. The design scope focuses on musical equalization curves and continuous control over low, mid, and high frequency content.
In terms of features, the plugin provides multiple equalization controls and signal-shaping options. These include selectable low and high shelving filters, midrange controls with varying response characteristics, a tilt EQ function, and optional transformer processing. A high-quality processing mode is also included as part of the feature set.
The SITRAL Klangfilter W295 EQ plugin is compatible with a wide range of digital audio workstations. Supported applications include Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase, Studio One, Reaper, Reason, Nuendo, Ableton Live, Digital Performer, FL Studio, Audacity, Bitwig Studio, and GarageBand.
The plugin supports activation on up to four machines simultaneously and requires an internet connection for activation. Minimum system requirements include an Intel, AMD, or Apple Silicon i5 quad-core processor, 4 GB of RAM, and a display resolution of at least 1024 x 768. Supported operating systems are macOS 10.14 or later, Windows 7 or later, and Linux 6.5 or later, including Ubuntu. Available plugin formats are VST3, AU, AAX on macOS, VST3 and AAX on Windows, and VST3 and LV2 on Linux.
The SITRAL Klangfilter W295 EQ plugin is priced at $64.99, with an introductory promotion offering a 50 percent discount. The duration of the promotion has not been specified.
