Lese has launched Impulse, a standalone impulse response renderer software compatible with both Windows and Mac systems. This innovative software offers an easy, realistic, and cost-effective solution for acoustic simulation, making it accessible to a wider audience.
Impulse is a unique software that employs large or small quantities of rays, processed in various ways, to simulate sound propagation. It utilizes several types of ray-casting algorithms, including ray tracing, ray inference, and beam tracing. These algorithms generate acoustic impulse responses that can be applied in a multitude of settings.
The software is designed to be user-friendly and accurate. Its ray propagation system is mathematically equivalent to the propagation of sound in the real world. Lese Audio Technologies has plans to incorporate additional simulation algorithms to address edge cases where the current ray methods may not be as effective.
Impulse comes with a material assignment feature that allows users to assign any Acoustic material to any section of the scene. It also includes a live preview feature, enabling users to get a sense of how the acoustics might sound in a given scene. The software is compatible with all common 3D model formats and can import standardized formats such as .obj, .stl, and .fbx.
Impulse’s technology has already been utilized in other plugins, including Eigen and AudioThing’s Fog Convolver 2. Furthermore, the Impulse Engine is available for other developers to incorporate into their own plugins.
A 24-month rent-to-own option is available for those interested in the software.
As an introductory offer, Lese is providing a 35% discount on lifetime license and subscription plans. To avail this offer, use the code: MPLSINTRO. The expiry date of this promotion is currently unknown.
