Lucid Musician has launched LucidHarmony v1.2.0, an AI-powered harmony generator designed for use within a DAW environment. The plugin is available now as a pay-what-you-want download, including a free option, with support for macOS and Linux and Windows compatibility in development.
LucidHarmony is built around a custom AI model developed with a focus on harmonic practice and music theory. According to the developer, the model draws on a training dataset of more than 3,700 individual compositions derived from MIDI material, reflecting a broad range of established compositional techniques.
The plugin generates four-part harmonic sequences using approaches associated with traditional harmonic progression and voice-leading. Each sequence is randomized from the most likely chord options suggested by the model. Users can generate new results repeatedly, with each pass producing a different outcome.
Lucid Musician states that the interface is designed to present essential configuration options while handling the underlying technical processes internally. The plugin can be used without prior knowledge of chords or music theory, while also providing visibility into chord structures and voicing for users who prefer more detailed control.
