Martinic has launched ’70s Pianet T electro-mechanical piano. This instrument brings a touch of retro charm to modern music production, replicating the iconic sound of the original ’70s Pianet T with a unique blend of ancient and modern techniques.
The Pianet T is not your typical piano. Instead of striking the reeds, the instrument uses NASA-patented pink plastic suction pads to engage them. These pads suck on the reeds until they snap loose and begin to vibrate. The vibrations are then converted into electrical sound by small coils, similar to those found in guitar pickups.
The intricate sounds produced by these coils are made up of numerous sine waves. In the case of the Pianet T model, it occasionally requires the computation of over 100 sine waves to create its distinct sound profile. To ensure optimal performance without overtaxing the CPU, Martinic has integrated an enhanced version of the formula pioneered by the seventh-century Indian mathematician Bhāskara Ⅰ.
This fusion of ancient methodologies with cutting-edge twentieth-century NASA techniques is seamlessly integrated into the plugin. The result is a harmonious marriage of tradition and innovation, offering users a unique and authentic musical experience.
