Mercuriall Audio has updated its Ampbox amp modeling plugin and standalone application for Windows and Mac, bringing it to version 1.4.2. Ampbox, a cutting-edge VST/AU/AAX + standalone amp modeling plugin for PC/Mac, is offered for free when purchasing one of the supported plugins.
Ampbox is a dynamic platform that supports all Mercuriall Audio products, both current and future. It is powered by the advanced Mercuriall Neural Hybrid Engine v2.0 technology. The platform currently supports a range of products including 6160III, Rectofire, Euphoria, ReAxis, and U530, with plans to add more products in the future.
The Ampbox comes with a variety of free modules. These include Micro Pitch Shift, a set of stereo reverb IRs in the Cabinet section, D.Comp, S.Comp, Distortion RAT, Max Morton IRs, Tuner, Noise gate, Graphic EQ, Wah 535Q, Overdrive: TS 808, Overdrive: Greed Smasher, Overdrive: SD-1, Metal Area and DS-1, Parametric EQ, Chorus, Delay, and Reverb.
The updated version introduces several new features. These include the Neural Hybrid Engine version 3.0, Power Link technology, freely movable module windows inside the plugin, and the ability to switch off the preamp/poweramp independently. The update also introduces the same oversampling cycle for pedals/preamp/poweramp, stereo-mode, and the ability to use delay and reverb in parallel. The plugin now supports CPU multi-threading and comes with a standalone version and factory and user presets.
The Ampbox supports a wide range of amps and preamps including Mercuriall 1987X SG, Mercuriall 6160 III, Mercuriall Rectofire, Mercuriall Euphoria, Mercuriall U530, and Mercuriall Reaxis. Each of these products comes with its own unique features and is powered by the Mercuriall Neural Hybrid Engine technology.
The Ampbox is compatible with a range of platforms and formats including Mac Intel and Mac Apple Silicone: 64-bit VST2, VST3, AU, AAX (Pro Tools 2019.12 and newer), and PC: VST2 x64, VST3 x64, AAX x64 (Pro Tools 2019.12 and newer).
The minimum system requirements for the Ampbox are Intel or AMD with AVX support, 2 cores and 4 threads, 2.8 GHz for PC and Intel Core 2, 2 cores and 4 threads, 2.8 GHz or Apple Silicon M1 for Mac. The OS should be Windows 8 or newer for PC and macOS 10.13 or newer for Mac. The DAW should be VST 2.4 compatible or Pro Tools 11 for PC and AU or VST 2.4 or AAX64 compatible for Mac. The RAM should be 4 Gb and Disk Space should be 500 Mb. The screen resolution should be WXGA+ (1440*900 px). An internet connection is required for software activation.
