MNE has launched Oh!Snap, a hybrid drum sound generator plugin designed for both Windows and Mac users. This innovative tool is a layering solution that enables users to combine layers effortlessly, creating unique and intricate sounds.
Oh!Snap is equipped with five sound engines, namely Sampler, Noise, Body, Karplus, and Granular. These engines provide a wide range of sound options for users to experiment with. The plugin also comes with over 700 field-recorded samples, offering users the ability to add organic textures to their sound. In addition, it includes samples from acoustic snares and iconic drum machines, further expanding the sound possibilities.
One of the key features of Oh!Snap is its use of sync points. These ensure that every layer remains aligned in time, resulting in clean impacts regardless of the modifications made on a layer. This feature is particularly useful for users who want to create complex sounds without compromising on clarity.
Oh!Snap also offers users the flexibility to import their own samples into the plugin. They can then export their sound as an audio file in just two clicks. Furthermore, the plugin allows users to create whoosh sounds in a matter of seconds, adding to its versatility.
The plugin is compatible with macOS 10.13 or later (Intel / Apple Silicon) and Windows 10/11. It requires 500 Mo of free disk space and internet access for product activation. Oh!Snap has been tested on a variety of music production software, including Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Reaper, FL Studio, and Bitwig Studio, ensuring its compatibility with most popular platforms.
MNE also offers a demo version of Oh!Snap. This version allows users to fully preview every sample, sound, and preset. However, it does have certain limitations, such as the ability to load only a maximum of 3 layers into the rack at the same time. Certain functions, like exporting rack to audio file, user sample import, and item/state saving, are also disabled in the demo version.
The original price of Oh!Snap is 59,00 €, but it is currently available for 29,00 €, as part of an introductory sale which is 50% off until May 31st. The expiry date of this promotional discount is currently unknown.
