Native Instruments has announced the release of Kontakt 8, their most feature-rich version yet. This latest iteration promises to revolutionize the way users generate, modulate, and playback sound, offering a host of performance updates for a faster and smoother workflow.
Kontakt 8 introduces a new layer of creative features with its innovative tools, designed to stimulate creativity and streamline the music-making process. These tools are compatible with all Kontakt instruments, both old and new. The initial launch includes MIDI content and randomization features with Chords and Phrases, specifically designed to ignite fresh ideas and facilitate a quick and efficient workflow.
One of the standout features of Kontakt 8 is Leap, a fast and playful tool for playing and manipulating loops. Leap is designed to inspire new ideas, add expressive performance effects, or simply provide a platform for jamming. It also introduces the Leap Expansions series, which breathes new life into your sample collection or offers a fresh start with 12 curated packs for specific genres and styles.
Kontakt 8 also debuts Conflux, the first of a new breed of Kontakt instruments for experimental sound design. Conflux allows users to layer organic and synthetic samples and add dynamic movement to static sounds in real time. It incorporates original PPG wavetables and techniques such as FM, phase modulation, and ring modulation.
The Factory Library in Kontakt 8 comes packed with hundreds of meticulously sampled instruments. Users can get started with a vast, playable, and tweakable selection of acoustic and electronic options, including the renowned collection from Orchestral Tools, plus Hybrid Keys.
Kontakt 8 continues to be the first choice for instrument developers worldwide, thanks to its powerful feature set. This latest version expands on its synth capabilities, including real-time wavetable, frequency modulation, and ring modulation oscillators.
Kontakt 8 is available for purchase at a price of €/$299. Upgrades from Kontakt 7 are available for €/$99, while a crossgrade from qualifying products is priced at €/$149.
