Nightfox Audio has unveiled its latest product, Pad City, a virtual instrument plugin and standalone for Mac and Windows. The plugin, which is currently available at an introductory price of $79.00, offers a unique stack of 12 textural pads, each providing a rich analog texture to any musical score.
Pad City is a unique collection of 12 distinct and textural pads. Each pad, whether it originates from guitars, cellos, horns, acoustic pianos, or synths, has undergone a journey through guitar pedals, amps, and outboard processing. This process ensures a rich analog texture that can enhance any musical score. The instrument is sampled on each note to prevent doubling and pitching of a sample, making it an ideal starting point for emotion in your music.
The technical specifications of Pad City include four plugin types: AU, AAX, VST3, and standalone app, making it compatible with all major Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs), with the exception of Garageband. It features 12 sampled analog pad sounds, each with 2-5 unique velocities, and requires about 2.7GB of disk space for its 1,318 samples. The plugin also includes onboard mixing faders for all instruments.
Additional technical specifications include five per-instrument effects: Pan, Width, Input Delay, EQ, Compression. It also offers global pitch and pan, along with attack, hold, decay, sustain, and release controls and visualizer. The customizable filter comes with 10 filter types, resonance, and a visualizer. The fully customizable arpeggiator includes hold, latch, and midi thru modes.
Adjustable parameters include step number, rate, number of octaves, swing amount, step size, keyboard split range hi/lo, six arp patterns, velocity map, note length map, and pitch offset map. The plugin also features five additional onboard effects: Drive (with eight types), Phaser, Chorus, Delay, and Reverb. It also includes three LFO’s (Gain LFO, Pitch LFO, and Filter LFO) with six shape options, five portamento controls, and over 70 presets. All important parameters are fully automation-capable in major DAWs and fully CC mappable. Users can also create, save, and favorite their own presets.
Pad City is currently available at an introductory discount of 20% off, reducing the price from $99.00 to $79.00. The expiry date of this offer is currently unknown.
