NoiseWorks has launched VoiceAssist, a smart vocal and dialogue processing plugin built around ARA integration for macOS and Windows systems. The plugin is intended to support consistent and efficient editing of spoken word and vocal material across music production and post-production workflows.
VoiceAssist is designed as an all-in-one assistant for cleaning, leveling, and managing vocal and dialogue recordings. It combines several processing stages within a single interface, with each section intended to be adjustable by the user rather than operating as a fully automatic process. Processing is handled locally on the user’s machine, with no cloud-based analysis or file uploads required.
At the core of VoiceAssist is a Clean section focused on preparing recordings for further work. This includes AI-powered denoising and dereverberation intended to address background noise and room reflections. The Clean section also includes a frequency recovery feature designed to restore high-frequency detail that may be affected by microphone placement or recording conditions.
The plugin includes a Dynamics section aimed at managing vocal and dialogue level consistency. VoiceAssist analyzes the recorded material and generates volume automation based on user-defined settings. Different response speeds are available, allowing users to choose how quickly the level adjustments react. Integrated loudness measurement supports LUFS-I and LUFS-S workflows, with peak control intended to manage downstream dynamics processing.
Low-frequency management is handled in a dedicated Lowend section. This part of the plugin is designed to recover low-frequency energy while also controlling unwanted resonances. Automatic detection of narrow low-end peaks is included, along with a pitch-based low-cut function that adjusts the cutoff frequency based on the detected lowest pitch in the recording.
Breath and sibilance control are managed through intelligent detection tools that identify relevant regions within the audio. Users can adjust the intensity of reduction and choose between broadband level reduction or spectral processing that targets specific frequency content. Detected regions remain editable, allowing manual adjustment, addition, or removal as needed.
VoiceAssist also includes a Gate section designed to distinguish between voice and silence rather than relying solely on a fixed threshold. This content-aware approach is intended to adapt to varying recording environments and performance dynamics. A traditional threshold-based mode is also available for users who prefer manual control, with adjustable parameters to tailor the gate’s behavior.
The plugin is positioned for users working regularly with vocals or spoken word material, including music production, dialogue editing, podcasting, broadcast work, and post-production. Its design also supports hybrid workflows where sessions move between different DAWs or team members, with ARA integration allowing edits and automation to remain intact across supported hosts.
VoiceAssist is available in VST3, AU, and AAX formats and supports ARA-compatible hosts. Supported applications include Pro Tools 2024.10 or later, Cubase, Nuendo, Reaper, and Studio One. Support for LUNA is planned for a future update.
System requirements for macOS include Apple Silicon processors (M1, M2, and M3), macOS 12.0 or later, and a minimum of 16 GB of RAM. On Windows, the plugin requires a 64-bit version of Windows 10 (version 1909 or later), an Intel i5 or equivalent AMD processor, at least 16 GB of RAM, and a dedicated NVIDIA or AMD graphics card with a minimum of 3 GB VRAM.
Licensing includes two seats per purchase under the NoiseWorks license system, with optional iLok license activation available through the user account. A 14-day unlimited trial version is also offered.
VoiceAssist is currently available with an introductory 33 percent discount. The purchase price is $199, reduced from $299. An upgrade from DynAssist is available for $99, reduced from $149. The duration of the promotion has not been specified.
