Overloud has launched THU v2, the latest version of its guitar amp simulation software, compatible with both Windows and Mac systems. This new iteration promises to enhance the user experience by integrating advanced modeling, capturing, and Fluid IR processing into a single, cohesive plugin available for both desktop and mobile platforms.
The THU v2 software is designed to be a comprehensive tool for musicians and producers, offering an extensive collection of add-ons. Users can explore over 32,000 Captured Rigs and more than 42,000 Fluid IRs, making it one of the most expansive libraries available in the market. This vast selection allows for a high degree of customization and flexibility in sound design.
Included in the THU v2 Premium package are 248 premium models, crafted using Overloud’s proprietary Fluid Modeling technology. This collection comprises 89 guitar amplifiers, 4 bass amplifiers, 50 guitar cabinets, 2 bass cabinets, 85 pedal and rack effects, and 18 microphone models. Additionally, the software provides over 1000 presets, offering ready-to-use guitar tones suitable for a wide range of musical styles and genres.
The Rig Player feature in THU v2 is particularly noteworthy, enabling users to accurately recreate the nuances of captured rigs. This feature grants access to the largest collection of rigs ever assembled, seamlessly integrating them into the user’s sound chain for a more authentic and personalized audio experience.
Another significant component of THU v2 is the SuperCabinet, which offers access to over 42,000 Fluid IRs. This component is designed to deliver cabinet tones that are robust, lifelike, and direct, setting a new standard for audio processing quality.
For those looking to upgrade from TH-U v1 to THU v2, the cost is set at $29. However, Overloud offers a promotional deal where purchasing any THU expansion, such as a Rig Library, Artist Pack, or Edition, will result in a free upgrade of all existing TH-U v1 licenses to THU v2. Furthermore, any TH-U Premium purchase made after April 1st, 2024, will also qualify for a free upgrade.
The mobile version of THU v2 is built on the same DSP engine as the desktop version, ensuring that users experience the same high-quality simulations without any compromise in audio fidelity. This makes it a versatile tool for musicians on the go, who require consistent performance across different devices.
The THU v2 software is currently priced at €179.00, including VAT, reflecting a discount from its original price of €299.00. The expiry date for this promotional offer is currently unknown.
