Panorama Audio Labs has launched Panoramic, a stereo-field processing plug-in designed for mastering applications. The plug-in uses four parallel processing sections intended to provide control over stereo width, density, harmonic character, and high-frequency air.
Panoramic is designed to shape stereo depth and energy without delay-based widening methods. Its processing architecture includes Width, Density, Character, and Air modules, with controls intended for mastering engineers as well as mixing and production work involving stereo material.
The Width module can be used in parallel mode, labelled PRL, or as a serial control, labelled SRL, for the full stereo signal. Density applies parallel compression to the side channel, while Character introduces odd-order harmonic saturation to the side signal. The Character section also includes a Steal control, which derives harmonics from the mid channel and introduces them into the stereo image.
The Air module adds excited high-frequency content to the overall stereo field. It includes a DS control, described as a high-frequency dynamic EQ for managing excessive high frequencies in the stereo signal, including cymbals and vocal sibilance.
Additional processing is provided by an Elliptical filter for converting low frequencies to mono. This can be placed before or after the four core modules:
- PRE: Places the filter before the Width, Density, Character, and Air sections, preventing low frequencies from entering those processors.
- POST: Places the filter after the core modules, allowing low frequencies to be processed before they are folded to mono.
Panoramic also provides 2x and 4x oversampling, linked and unlinked input and output controls for gain staging, and a wet/dry mix control with a range of 0 to 200 percent. The interface can be scaled from 75 to 125 percent and includes hover tooltips accessed via a question-mark button.
The plug-in is available for macOS 11 or later on Apple silicon and Intel-based Macs. Supported formats are Audio Unit, VST3, and AAX. Panorama Audio Labs lists a minimum requirement of 4 GB RAM, with 8 GB recommended, and recommends 500 MB of available disk space.
Panorama Audio Labs was founded by mastering engineer Nicholas Di Lorenzo. The developer states that Panoramic draws on processing approaches and routing systems developed through its mastering work and adapted into a plug-in format.
Panoramic has an MSRP of $99 USD. It is available at a launch price of $69 USD from 18 August 2026 to 18 September 2026.
