Pink Parrot Studio has announced the release of Quadtrack, a computer-based groovebox designed to recreate the sonic character of the classic Commodore Amiga home computer while integrating modern live sequencing features. The instrument is available now and runs on contemporary systems through emulation.
Quadtrack is built using the Scorpion Engine game development platform for Amiga and operates on macOS, Windows, and Linux systems via the free Universal Amiga Emulator (UAE). By developing the software within an authentic Amiga environment and distributing it with a bundled UAE runtime, Pink Parrot Studio aims to retain the workflow and sound characteristics associated with the original hardware while ensuring accessibility on current computers.
The instrument is structured as a four-track groovebox. Each track features a 16-step sequencer and includes modulation options intended to shape playback and rhythmic variation. The design focuses on step-based pattern creation, enabling users to assemble electronic grooves ranging from traditional dance patterns to more experimental rhythmic structures.
Quadtrack includes ten sample sets:

- POWERHANDLE
- RAVE
- TRONBERG
Each set contains 64 individual samples, providing a consistent structure for sound selection and sequencing. The included material is designed to support extended pattern creation within the four-track framework.
The interface combines on-screen controls with dedicated keyboard shortcuts, allowing users to program and manipulate patterns directly from their computer keyboard. The application runs as a standalone environment via the included UAE runtime. UAE also provides save-state functionality, enabling users to store, recall, and share their projects.
In addition to running on modern systems, Quadtrack can operate on original Commodore Amiga hardware equipped with 2 MB of chip RAM and at least a Motorola 68040 processor, although sample playback memory is more limited in that configuration.
For users who wish to integrate the software into a broader production setup, audio can be routed into a digital audio workstation using existing third-party routing solutions compatible with the host system.
The project was created by Dataline, a former Elektron product specialist, under the Pink Parrot Studio name. The release reflects an approach that merges retro computing workflows with contemporary sequencing practices, positioning the computer itself as the groovebox platform.
Quadtrack is priced at €25.00 EUR, with an option to pay more, and is available via Pink Parrot Studio.
