Prima Materia Audio has launched RADIOCORE 4471, a creative audio processor designed to transform clean audio into unstable radio transmissions and corrupted signal textures. The plugin is aimed at producers, sound designers, and experimental artists working with audio transformation and resampling workflows.
RADIOCORE 4471 is built to convert ordinary sounds into degraded broadcasts, unstable communication signals, and spectral artifacts. According to the developer, it is intended for use in projects that require broken transmission effects, degraded signal behaviour, and unpredictable sonic material.
The plugin focuses on the simulation of radio communication systems and their potential instability. It includes processing designed to reshape speech into various types of transmission scenarios, including:
- CB radio transmissions
- Emergency broadcast voices
- Corrupted announcements
- Weak signal speech
- Spectral voice artifacts
These functions are intended to move spoken audio from clear and intelligible recordings toward degraded and disrupted transmission characteristics.
RADIOCORE 4471 also provides tools for building communication system environments. The processor supports the creation of radio-style effects such as CB and trucker radio tones, tactical field communications, emergency signal broadcasts, and unstable channel behaviour. The design scope includes the simulation of degraded signal networks and transmission failure systems.
A dedicated signal collapse section enables the generation of interference, static bursts, and transmission dropouts. Users can introduce corrupted signal paths, broadcast failures, and progressive radio system breakdown. This functionality is designed to support controlled instability and signal degradation within a production context.
For sound design applications, the plugin can be used to generate:
- Radio communication artifacts
- Signal failure textures
- Transmission collapse events
- Digital corruption effects
- Unstable system noises
Prima Materia Audio states that RADIOCORE 4471 is suited to film scoring, game audio production, and experimental sound design. The processor can also serve as a resampling source, turning voice recordings or other audio material into layered textures and distortion-based foundation material. The workflow supports iterative processing chains and the creation of multiple degraded variations from a single source.
Key features include radio signal processing designed to emulate unstable transmissions and degraded broadcasts, as well as spectral manipulation for generating frequency interactions, harmonic contamination, and spectral smearing. The plugin also incorporates feedback and instability controls to create signal drift and transmission collapse effects.
RADIOCORE 4471 features a dual interface system, providing one panel for immediate control and a second panel for more detailed experimentation. The layout is intended to accommodate both quick adjustments and deeper sound design workflows.
RADIOCORE 4471 is available from the Prima Materia Audio website for €29.90. A free 7-day trial is also available.
