remaincalm has relaunched its software line with three new audio effect plugins aimed at sound designers and musicians. The Sydney developer is offering a free chorus effect and two commercial tools designed for creative processing.
The plugins are provided in VST3, AU, and AAX formats for both macOS and Windows. Users can download GLOSS at no cost or explore the paid options—PARANOIA and GOSSAMER—via the company website.
PARANOIA is a distortion and modulation effect that leans into industrial textures and vintage chiptune character. Originally released as a free add-on for Reaper in 2010, this edition is a complete rewrite. It delivers everything from subtle preamp crunch to aggressive rhythmic destruction.
GOSSAMER combines multiple modulation effects to reshape synthesizer tones. It features a phaser, chorus, formant filter, and shimmer module, each modelled on classic 1970s hardware. The plugin is tailored for ambient, Berlin School, and experimental electronic styles.
GLOSS is a streamlined modulation effect offering two distinct chorus flavors and a reverb drawn from GOSSAMER’s algorithms. Its simple controls are designed to add warmth and movement to any source without extensive tweaking.
