RevoltDSP has recently launched Unholy Hybrid Distortion, a unique fuzz/distortion plugin available for both Windows and Mac users. This innovative plugin, which was the first physical pedal designed by Lead developer Ryan during the Revolt Custom Audio era, offers a wide range of distortion effects suitable for various audio applications.
Unholy Hybrid Distortion is a unique fuzz/distortion hybrid circuit. The positive waves are soft clipped, while the negative waves are hard-clipped, similar to a fuzz distortion. This wide-ranging distortion can be used for more than just guitars. It can be blended on vocal and drum busses to add grit and character to the sound.
The Unholy pedal holds a special place in the history of RevoltDSP. It was the first distortion algorithm written specifically for the company, marking the origins of their first colour scheme. To celebrate this milestone, RevoltDSP has decided to re-release the Unholy pedal with their latest generation graphics, making it available for free to all users.
To download and install the Unholy Hybrid Distortion plugin, users need to close their current Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) session, extract the .pkg file from the zip folder, and follow the installer instructions.
The minimum requirements for Mac users are Mac OSX Sonoma 14.4.1, 8GB RAM, and an Apple M1/2/3 processor. An Intel processor version is expected to be released soon.
