Ridge Sound introduces Fold EQ creative sound design equaliser plugin.

News: Ridge Sound introduces Fold EQ creative sound design equaliser plugin.

Ridge Sound has launched Fold EQ, a creative sound design equaliser plugin built around multiband processing and time-based band control. The plugin provides 20 bands, with each band designed to adjust both frequency-related settings and when the processed signal arrives.

Fold EQ is designed around a folding control system that allows bands to be moved left and right and positioned over one another. Ridge Sound describes this approach as enabling interactions between multiple bands for sound design applications.

The plugin includes 11 band types, including Ripple, Brownian, and Runaway Resonator. Users can select from four Fold modes, each assigning a different left-to-right function to a band:

  • Time: pre-delay to delay
  • Freq Shift: negative to positive frequency shifting
  • FFT: phase lock to spectral gate
  • Transient: cut to boost

Fold EQ also offers a serial signal-flow node dragger when operating in serial mode, allowing users to arrange processing nodes within the signal path.

For modulation, the plugin includes five customisable LFOs, four mappable macro controls, and three envelope followers. Its Mod Matrix supports combinations of modulators, alongside Aux Mods, for assigning modulation to available parameters.

Fold EQ is available from the Ridge Sound website for $19.99.
