Shy audio has Launched the Shy 90s Dynamix. This new compressor plugin draws inspiration from the budget-friendly rack gear of the 1990s, which was instrumental in shaping the sound of numerous loops, grooves, and underground hits of that era.
The Shy 90s Dynamix is designed to evoke the essence of a hardware-based bedroom studio, where compressors were valued for their ability to add vibe, rhythm, and energy rather than surgical precision. This plugin is inspired by the budget rack units that producers used to enhance their loops with groove and attitude, often pushing them beyond their intended use.
Whether you’re looking to subtly glue a drum bus or transform a loop into classic French house style, the Shy 90s Dynamix offers adaptability. Its custom multi-envelope engine responds musically to input, providing snappy and flowing compression, particularly at lower thresholds. The plugin’s flexible modes make it suitable as a general-purpose mix compressor, capable of handling a wide range of tasks.
The Shy 90s Dynamix includes a snappy gate for precise control or rhythmic chopping, and a limiter with ultra-fast fixed timing to manage peaks or compress audio significantly. In addition to the new release, Shy audio has updated the Shy 90s Channel to version 1.2.0. This update introduces A/B mode and the new Flux mode, which replaces the original “NZ” switch. Flux mode offers subtle left/right fluctuation without audible noise, along with various under-the-hood improvements.
