Silvermount Audio, a newly partnered NKI company, has launched a 5-string bass sample library specifically designed for the Kontakt Player. The product, named Torus Bass, is packed with over 6000 samples and 10 articulations, providing a comprehensive tool for music producers and enthusiasts.
The Torus Bass library includes a variety of articulations such as ‘normal pick’, ‘palm mute’, ‘dead notes’, ‘slap’, ‘harmonics’, ‘tap’ and ‘pull-offs’, ‘pick scrape’, ‘left hand percussion’ and ‘scratch all strings’. Additionally, it features slide up & down samples for a more diverse sound palette. The ‘alternate pick’ and ‘select string’ functions offer users a higher degree of control over their compositions.
One of the standout features of Torus Bass is its interactive fretboard. This allows users to visually navigate the instrument, enhancing the overall user experience. The library also includes a fully-featured dual signal chain for saturation separation, providing complete tone control straight out of the box. This feature, coupled with FX modules such as a compressor, limiter, distortion, and dual cabinets, makes Torus Bass a powerful tool for music production.
The ‘select string’ function in Torus Bass follows a logical progression after the 24th fret until the end of the range. This feature adds a layer of realism to the sound, making it a valuable asset for producers aiming for a more authentic sound. To further enhance the realism, Silvermount Audio has included miscellaneous samples such as ‘fret release’ and ‘note stop’.
This is the first ever release from Silvermount Audio, marking their entry into the market. Despite the high-quality features and extensive sample library, Torus Bass is priced at an affordable $50, making it accessible to a wide range of users.
