Smart Audio Solution has introduced Session Inspector, a free browser-based utility designed to preview essential session information without opening a full DAW project. The tool runs as an HTML page in Safari on macOS and provides access to key project data from supported session files.
Session Inspector is intended to give producers and engineers a quick overview of session details before launching a digital audio workstation. By loading a compatible session file into the browser, users can review technical and structural information in a simplified interface.
The application, described as a Session Reader, displays the following data:
- Sample rate
- BPM
- Plugin list, including web links to each manufacturer
- Number of tracks
- Track names
- Audio previews of all audio tracks
According to Smart Audio Solution, this approach allows users to inspect important project attributes, such as tempo and processing chains, without committing time and system resources to fully opening the session in its native DAW.
Session Inspector currently supports session files created in:
- Logic Pro
- Pro Tools
- Cubase
- Ableton Live
The tool operates exclusively on macOS and requires Safari, as it functions as a standalone HTML page. Other browsers are not currently supported.
Session Inspector is positioned as a practical utility for users who manage multiple projects or collaborate across different systems, providing a streamlined way to verify session specifications and content before loading the complete production environment.
