SonikSearch v3 is a sample library manager developed for music producers and sound designers, introducing AI-based semantic search and an expanded set of creative tools. The latest version adds an integrated kit-based sampler, local stem separation, and enhanced analysis features, while continuing to run all processing locally on the user’s machine.
SonikSearch is designed to help users browse, search, analyse, and audition large sample collections either as a standalone application or directly within a DAW. Its semantic search system allows users to describe a sound in plain language, with results based on how audio files actually sound rather than relying solely on filenames or manual tags.
All analysis and indexing processes are handled locally. According to the developer, the system has been tested with libraries containing up to 15 million samples, positioning it for users working with extensive collections.
Version 3 introduces a full kit-based sampler integrated into the application. The sampler supports between 16 and 128 pads per kit and includes sample mapping and per-pad effects. Users can chop or slice samples and drag MIDI data directly into their DAW for further arrangement.

Another addition in v3 is local stem separation. Any sample can be split into drums, bass, vocals, and other components. The resulting stems are automatically imported back into the library, where they are analysed and tagged for future search and organisation.
The update also includes neural network-based BPM and key detection. This analysis is combined with an expanded auto-tagging system featuring more than 400 tags across 12 descriptive facets. These tags are intended to assist users in categorising and retrieving sounds based on musical and sonic characteristics.
