Sonuscore has launched LUX Orchestral Strings Elements, a free orchestral strings library for Native Instruments Kontakt Player. The instrument is designed to provide composers working in film, television, and games with access to the core sound and structure of the LUX series in a streamlined format.
LUX Orchestral Strings Elements includes five core string sections and four primary articulations, built from the same recordings used in the full LUX Orchestral Strings Library. The release offers a practical entry point for composers who want to integrate the LUX sound into their existing templates and scoring workflows.
The included articulations are intended to support common orchestral writing tasks, covering melodic passages, rhythmic figures, and sustained textures. A 1st Violin Legato Demo is also provided. According to Sonuscore, the library is designed to enable users to begin writing complete string cues immediately, without requiring extensive setup or configuration.
The instrument is suited to a range of orchestral scoring contexts, including:
- Film and television scoring
- Trailer music production
- Video game soundtracks
- Production music
- Independent compositional work
LUX Orchestral Strings Elements runs in the free Native Instruments Kontakt Player (version 7.10.9 or higher). Once installed, it operates fully offline, with an internet connection required only for the initial download and installation process.
The library supports both macOS and Windows systems wherever Kontakt Player is supported. It integrates with any DAW that supports VST, AU, or AAX formats, including Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase, Ableton Live, Fender Studio, and Reaper. A minimum of 8 GB of RAM is required.
For users who choose to expand further, the full version of LUX Orchestral Strings adds extended articulation sets, additional workflow tools, full microphone control, an ensemble instrument, and the complete articulation palette intended for comprehensive scoring projects. Elements is structured to allow cues started within the free version to transition to the full library without restarting a project.
