Sonuscore has launched ELYSION ELEMENTS, a hybrid scoring instrument based on the company’s ELYSION series. The new library runs in the Kontakt Player and introduces a curated selection of Themes alongside the full ELYSION engine.
ELYSION ELEMENTS is designed for composers working in film, television, games, and production music. It combines synthetic and electronic sound sources with performance behaviour inspired by orchestral sampling, placing emphasis on dynamic response and real-time control.
The instrument includes 30 hand-selected Themes drawn from across the ELYSION range. These are organised into four categories:
The Themes were selected by Tilman Sillescu, Co-Founder of Sonuscore and Lead Composer at Dynamedion, to demonstrate a broad range of dynamics and textures, from restrained and atmospheric to more assertive and rhythm-driven material. The library uses a character-based naming system, loosely inspired by Gustav Holst’s The Planets, to provide an identifiable emotional context for each Theme.
At the core of ELYSION ELEMENTS is the same engine architecture used in ELYSION 2. While the instrument browser is limited to the included content, the sound design and performance tools remain fully accessible. Users can edit and shape sounds using:
- A morphable effects section with adjustable FX parameters
- Integrated arpeggiators and envelope controls
- A dedicated pan engine and internal mixer
This structure allows composers to adapt the included Themes to specific scoring contexts, whether for underscore, trailer-style cues, or hybrid arrangements that combine orchestral and electronic elements.
A central feature of the ELYSION concept is velocity-layered sampling applied to synthetic sources. Rather than sampling a sound at a single dynamic level and scaling its volume, each source is recorded across multiple velocity layers. Each layer is shaped with its own tonal character, allowing timbre to change in response to performance intensity. Softer playing produces a more restrained tone, while higher velocities introduce additional harmonics and edge. According to Sonuscore, this approach mirrors the way acoustic instruments respond dynamically to a performer’s touch.
By combining layered sampling with editable modulation and effects, ELYSION ELEMENTS provides access to the same underlying performance system as the larger ELYSION instruments, within a focused selection of content. The design is intended to offer hands-on control over movement, dynamics, and spatial placement without restricting users to fixed presets.
In a statement accompanying the release, Tilman Sillescu said that ELYSION was developed to allow synthetic sounds to respond more like acoustic instruments, with expression shaped directly by performance input. ELYSION ELEMENTS introduces that concept through a streamlined set of Themes while retaining the core engine functionality.
ELYSION ELEMENTS is available now as a free download from Sonuscore and runs in the free Kontakt Player. To mark the launch, the rest of the ELYSION series is on sale from July 14th to July 21st, 2026.
