Soule DSP has launched Resonarium, a new MPE-compatible expressive physical modeling synthesizer available as both a plugin and standalone application for Mac and Windows. This innovative software is currently in development, with a focus on enhancing stability and performance.
Resonarium is crafted to inspire abstract sound design, exploration, and open-ended play. It is particularly effective when paired with MPE control devices such as the Ableton Push 3 or Roli Seaboard. While the software functions smoothly in Ableton and Bitwig, users have reported some compatibility issues with Logic and FL Studio.
The development and testing of Resonarium have been conducted on Apple Silicon machines running MacOS. However, it is also expected to operate on Windows systems configured with the appropriate development environment, specifically CMake. Due to the unpredictable nature of sounds produced by waveguide modeling, users are advised to set their system’s maximum volume to a safe level before using the software.
Pre-compiled binaries of Resonarium are available in the Releases tab. These binaries are signed and notarized, ensuring they function seamlessly out of the box. The pre-compiled releases include both .vst3 and standalone executables. For those interested in other binary formats, such as AUv3, these can be built from the source if desired.
