Sound Dust has launched DRIFT005 Clavotron, a virtual instrument designed for Kontakt (full version). This innovative product is a hybrid hammered and plucked string instrument, offering a range of deeply sampled articulations for a unique musical experience.
The DRIFT005 Clavotron is more than just a virtual instrument. It is a hybrid hammered and plucked string instrument that offers 10 deeply sampled articulations. These include the Hohner Clavinet D6 in five variations, the Dolmetsh Harpsichord, the Siel Orchestra2, and more. The product also comes with 3GB of 24bit multi samples and features an abundance of wow, flutter, and multi throb.
The product’s design can be described as simple at the front, complex behind the curtain. It features four large knobs: Grist, ADSR, Morph, and Space. These knobs combine multiple functions for uncomplicated and intuitive sound design. The DRIFT005 Clavotron also includes 40 modular instrument stacks, 50 snapshots, and a BPM synced drift control for tape-like chaotic wow and flutter.
It’s important to note that while DRIFT 005 will load into Player, it will time out after 10 minutes. This makes it unsuitable for those using the free Kontakt Player. The DRIFT005 Clavotron is specifically designed for the full version of Kontakt 6.7.1 and above.
